The online manual states

<IF {TID} contains main.tpl>
Whatever you want to say here. Maybe a banner image too.
</IF>

However, the value of TID doesn't appear to be populated.

As a temporary work around, I used
<IF {CURRENTURL} is ...base address..index.php>
blah..
</IF>

It was broken by the RAM-conservation methods in a late revision of 3.24.
