You'll need to be much more specific so that there's a method to reproduce this. As admin, when I click 'edit' it simply shows the 'edit link' screen. Are you in some other usergroup, or is this only a particular link and not others, or what?
A normal edit obviously isn't doing anything like that. What specific things are you changing? Or what unusual settings do you have? Category selector off, that sort of thing? Again, you need to give me instructions that actually reproduce a problem. You can see for yourself that doing a standard english-only install and then following your instructions doesn't show any problem.
It isn't. Nobody else is having such problems, and you could've seen for yourself that they do not occour on a plain install. I'd have to guess you edited a template in a bad way, for lack of other info.

When I try to edit the link from the adminlink icon ( edit), I am getting an error

I login as admin and then go to the links directory.
Once I click on edit button next to a link the edit link screen comes up
I make some changes to the Link and submit the changes by pressing <edit link> button at the bottom of the page.
Thats when the error comes up.

Just realized that the same thing happens when I edit categories also. May be something is up with edit.php

Never mind, I switched back to 316 and everything is fine.. Didnt realize the 324 was a unstable release.
