I finally got into the admin panel and i checked all the settings but I still cannot see any links when i select a category. The drop down menu shows all the categories and the database has all the links in there but they just dont show up in the actual site. Not sure what to do next. How can I make them show?
FINALLY, i guess with all the waiting for a response here i finally fooled around with it more. basically reinstalled a fresh copy into a new directory and then exported categories, links and members. dropped those from the new table and ran a query with the old tables. im done here , for now. thx for the delay , pushed me to figure it out after a gazillion tries.
If you were seeing the access denied message, it was usergroup permissions. If you were upgrading from a 2.x version, that'd certainly be the case as noted in the upgrade instructions.
I'm having the same problem with the links not showing when I view my directory. The first one I entered last week I entered as a user and confirmed the listing. It shows but not the 9 that I added yesterday as the administrator don't show. After each submission the system showed me a message that the listing was successfully submitted.
When I submitted the links as the administrator the system also didn't send email messages out.
The categories show that there are links in these categories but doesn't provide a way to get to them.
The 5 latest links list shows the titles. Clicking on the title takes me directly to their website. I just can't figure out how to make the listings show in the directory.
I regenerated links and still can't view them in the directory.

Can you describe what you mean by that or post a screenshot? And did you change usergroup permissions on those categories so that you might not have access to them?
In trying to figure this out I stumbled across the problem.
I had renamed regular to standard. I changed the opening tag but didn't edit the closing tag. What tipped me off what that it said I had 1 link (0 regular 0 reciprocal)
Makes sense. If you don't have a category by that name it has nowhere to go.
It's really a much better idea to leave it named 'regular' and simply change the wording used to reference it. Change the display name, not the official name. Makes upgrades much easier too.
