I have a category called "Holidays". I then added a subcategory called: 10.25-26,Mandawa.
Then I renamed "10.25-26,Mandawa" to "10.25-26.Mandawa" (, to .). This caused the following error to be listed in the normal error log:
rename(/home/jjvh82b/public_html/attachments/Personal/Holidays/1025-26Mandawa/,/home/jjvh82b/public_html/attachments/Personal/Holidays/1025-26Mandawa/): Onbekend bestand of map in /home/jjvh82b/public_html/edit.php on line 904
The problem seems to be that the corresponding directory is not yet created on category creation. Only when an actual file is being added to the category it creates the directory. So when you rename the category earlier than that there's no directory yet to also rename.
This seems to also cause problems when using tar upload as it seems to assume the directory to be existing (possibly also the move bug which is listed elsewhere).
An english translation of the error might help. Having a . in a directory name, as your bug tree would involve, ought to be an error though if it isn't prevented from using that, so are you sure it's not that?
To reproduce: 1. Create a category called "test" (no directory test is created) 2. Rename the category called "test" to "asdf" 3. An error is now shown indicating WSN is unable to rename the directory (which is logical as it doesn't exist yet)
The directory not existing also seemed to cause problems for other functions (like tarupload). Which is why I'm wondering whether creating a directory immediately upon creation of a category would be the way to go.

I also made these categories (also in the holidays category):
10.23-25.New Delhi I
10.26-27.Jaipur
Neither had a corresponding directory yet. This for instance caused the tarupload to one of these categories not to work.
Now I have to manually upload a single file to the category before I can tarupload to it .

Note: I also tried 10 23-25 New Delphi I. Then also no directory is created. (so the "." isn't the problem).
